ScopeThe College of Nursing is an integral part of the Adhiparasakthi Charitable, Medical, Educational and Cultural Trust. This implies not merely training in the professional skills but also in attitudes, values and character. We believe that health is a dynamic state of physical, mental, social, economical and spiritual well being up to the maximum potential of the individual. Health is a basic right and nursing is an important aspect of health care that upholds this belief. The Nursing students and staff are expected to maintain the highest standards in their professional and private lives. The faculty of the college believe that the professional nurse provides a unique service in improving health, in the prevention of illness and in the care and rehabilitation of the individual family and community. Our professionals contribute to nursing care and work towards the continued improvement and upliftment of professionals. Our student nurse fulfills her responsibilities as a member and a citizen of the country for its growth and development. Nursing education is a process of growth oriented towards the development of the student as a person, as a prospective member of the nursing profession who will uphold the dignity and strive to establish professional autonomy in nursing education practice and research. We prepare nurses who are capable of delivering quality nursing care with a holistic approach regardless of social, ethnic, religious or political affiliation. It is the social, cultural, intellectual and spiritual experience of a professional nature, which contributes to the total development of students for democratic living and personal discipline. AchievementsWe are proud to state that our students have always excelled in their studies. They came out with flying colors in the University Examinations. The pass percentage of the Final semester is as follows: I-batch 95.23%; Il-batch 100%; III-batch 100% and IV-batch 100%. We congratulate and compliment our students for giving 100% result for the last the three consecutive years. We are also proud of one of our 1994-95 batch students Ms. K. Porkodi, who won the Gold Medal for her University Rank. Our college has been accredited with Grade-A by the Tamilnadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai. FutureWith the intention of developing the college, we have already applied for starting a M.Sc. Degree to facilitate the pursuit higher studies by rural women, as there is no other collese in the vicinity which offers a M.Sc. degree. Now, we have decided to start the D.G.N.M. (Diploma in General Nursing &Midwifery) degree to fulfill the needs of rural women who could hardly afford the degree courses because of their financial constraints. It is our honest endeavour to make our college a full-fledged and modern institution. |
