Velvi for World Peace at Chester Springs, USA - 9/3/00

Velvis, or yagnas, are very old spiritual ceremonies used to harness Goddess Power (spiritual energy), not for simple enlightenment of the individual, but for the entire world. Because all living things are part of the same whole, the progression of mankind toward enlightenment leads not only to peace among man but harmony with nature. Thus, performing these ceremonies brings material benefits to those performing the ceremony, the place where the ceremony is performed, and even people far removed from it.

Because of all the natural disasters befalling the US and because of other problems like drug and alcohol abuse among young people, Amma wanted to come to the US for a large Velvi to help alleviate these problems. The velvi will also have beneficial effects on farming and the general welfare of the country as a whole.
