Many times during the year tens of thousands of people gather at the Siddhar Peedam in Melmaruvathur to celebrate important days. Smaller celebrations also occur in other places around the world at about the same time. The largest festivals are celebrations of special days for Hindus and Devotees of the Movement. Some of the Hindu festivals are ones which have fallen out of favor as major festivals in the rest of India. In addition to Hindu festivals, other religious holidays are celebrated as well. On major religious holidays in Christianity and Islam many Christians and Muslims come to the Temple to celebrate their holy days and special preparations are made for all of these special days.
