Om Sakthi

AdhiPara Sakthi Peetam and Spiritual Center of N.A.
Chester Springs, Pennsylvania, USA.

A Nonprofit Organization

Dear Sakthis,

With the Divine Grace of guru, His Holiness, Bangaru Adigalar, we have been moving forward towards the completion of the projects necessary for Phase I of the building of our first Sakthi Peetam in North America (in Chester Springs Pennsylvania).

We are excited to inform all of our Sakthi devotees and friends that the Road Project at our Sakthi Peetam property started on Thursday, July 14, 2005 with the clearing of greenery (bushes, shrubs and overgrown weeds) marked by the survey team. On Monday, July 18th, a few of the trees (a minimum number) will also be cut and removed to make way for laying out the Road.

As you know, it took over 18 months to obtain all the necessary permits from the various agencies including PennDOT (Pennsylvania Department of Transportation), the Chester County Wildlife Conservancy Department, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the West Pikeland Township Authorities.

With the completion of this Road Project within the next 6 weeks, we will have:

  • acceleration and deceleration lanes at the entrance and exit on Conestoga Road (Pa, Rt 401)
  • complete rain water detention basin
  • 2 lane road from Conestoga Road to the right of our Barn ending at a parking lot area

The total cost for the successful completion of this Road Project is estimated at $230,000. Currently, we have collected and escrowed $149,000 (which can only be released at the final inspection/conclusion of the project). The rest of the funds, $80,000, have to be raised by the first week of August. We will owe the contractors their first payment of $80,000 by August 5, 2005.

Also, as part of the Road Project, it is necessary for the current electricity to be disconnected while the road construction is in process. And the existing electrical post will have to be removed. We will then have to establish a new line to bring electricity back to our farmhouse as well as electricity for our Temple construction site. The estimated cost for this is $30,000. Even though this is a separate cost from the road construction costs, it is an integral part of completing the Road Project. Payment for the new electrical line is due by the 2nd week of August. So, both the Road Project as well as the new electricity lines will be completed by August and so all of our payments will be due in August 2005. Therefore, we will need to raise and have in hand $110,000 dollars before the end of August.

Due to the short time line for raising funds for this project, we request everyone to contribute as much as they can at this time. Unfortunately, we cannot stop this project in the middle for the lack of funds, that is why we are urging everyone to not only donate as much as you can but to also request other Sakthis to lend a hand in getting this long awaited Road Project successfully completed. This Road Project is a pre-condition for starting Phase I construction of our Sakthi Peetam. With this fund raising deadline of August 10th, we hope that at least 350 devotees can contribute an average of $300.00.
